Publisher: 505 Games

Release Date: 14/05/2019 (Switch)

Redout's developer 34 Big Things recently conducted an interview with GamingBolt to discuss the upcoming console version of the futuristic racer including any PlayStation 4 Pro enhancements.

When asked whether Redout Lightspeed Edition will run at 4k and 60 frames per second, the developer divulged their plans.

Optimization is an art that takes patience and time,” said 34 Big Things. “We are trying to make it in time for launch, but we can’t be sure at the moment. HDR is there, if your TV supports it. But honestly I would say the huge performance boost is the main reason to play Redout on a Pro.”

The anti-gravity racer is currently on course for an August 31 release on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles following its release on the PC last year. A version for the Nintendo Switch is planned, although it's release date is currently not confirmed

The console versions will be enhanced and known as Redout: Lightspeed Edition. This version comes complete with the newly added split-screen mode for co-op play, along with the Europa and Neptune DLC packs.

Redout contains a decently sized career mode with over 100 challenges. Thirty tracks are included, and players can choose between four racing classes and seven different racing teams.
