Project CARS 2 is already sounding like a promising sequel to the acclaimed original which brought sim racing to consoles. A wealth of disciplines are promised, including rally and hillclimb events, along with variable weather conditions and improved physics. While more details are expected to be revealed very soon, some more tantalysing info on the sequel has emerged courtesy of Slightly Mad's CEO Ian Bell.

We know that Gran Turismo Sport will also adopt an “Advanced Matchmaking System” allowing players to earn “Sportsmanship Points”, which will be rewarded according to your driving style to encourage clean racing. Your move, Forza Motorsport 7

Project CARS 2 is expected to be released "around Septemberish", which is much sooner than we initially thought, where it will compete with the likes of Gran Turismo Sport and Forza Motorsport 7. It's safe to say, then, that the racing game market will be getting very competitive towards the end of the year.
