We recently got some hands-on time with the upcoming official Motocross title MXGP 3, and were excited to see the various graphical and audio enhancements that switching over to the Unreal Engine 4 brings with it.

The MXGP games certainly are not easy to pick up and play, you often will have your hands full with accelerating, front and rear braking, shifting your rider's weight and changing gears should you opt to. However, with our first gameplay session under our belts, we get a little more familiar with the control system which gives us the confidence to gun for a podium finish.

Another area of the title which impressed us is the replay footage, thanks to the feeling of life in the environments. Crowds litter the sides of the track in greater number than ever before, dust shoots from the back of the bikes obscuring the view, coloured flares pollute the air and the game has an overall more gritty nature with its darker and more moody lighting.

You may notice we fall of our bike quite a bit, this is due to the handling not being final. The developer has assured us that this will not be the case when the game releases on May 12 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
