Back in May, Codemasters announced F1 Mobile Racing, a free-to-play Formula One game developed in collaboration with Eden Games, the developer behind Test Drive Unlimited and Gear.Club Unlimited, for iOS and Android. A few months later, Codemasters has released new details as well as the first footage of the mobile racing title to celebrate F1 Mobile Racing’s soft launch showcasing the game’s console-quality graphics and gameplay. A work in progress version is currently available to download on the iOS App store in Thailand and the Philippines ahead of the full release later this year.
10 teams and 20 drivers from the 2018 Formula 1 season will feature, and Codemasters promises customisation will play a key part of F1 Mobile Racing with a detailed livery editor that lets you edit multiple areas of your colour scheme and add stickers and other details.
A Research & Development system will allow you to develop your car and improve its performance, and there will also be real-time multiplayer. Codemasters has confirmed the multiplayer will include a “Duel” mode, which implies one-on-one battles. Silverstone is the only circuit showcased in the trailer, but Codemasters has confirmed all 21 circuits of the 2018 season will feature.
More information about F1 Mobile Racing will be revealed in the run-up to its release later this year on iOS and Android.
