Gran Turismo Sport is getting an extensive playable demo very soon

Martin Bigg On October 3, 2017

It's been an agonising four-year wait, but we're now only a few weeks away from the release of Gran Turismo Sport on PS4. Many fans will have already played the game ahead of the release by taking part in the invite-only closed beta, but for those who missed out and want to try the game for free before release, we have good news.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has announced that a free playable demo of Gran Turismo Sport will be available to download on the PlayStation Store on Monday October 9th ahead of the game's final release. As of this weekend, you will also be able to preload it onto your console. It's a timed demo that's active for four days however and will finish on Thursday October 12th.

This isn't a simple demo containing a couple of cars and a handful of tracks, either. Three modes will be available, including the main Sport mode allowing you to race against other players online and a portion of the campaign mode with driving challenges, missions and circuit experience areas.  The Northern Isle, Dragon Trail and the Colorado rally course will be available in Arcade mode, which also includes two-player split screen multiplayer.

Photo fanatics will also be able to sample the game's Scapes mode which lets you take photogenic shots of cars in exotic locations, as well as the Livery editor which is one of GT Sport's main new and long-requested features.

As an added incentive, those who play through the demo will be able to transfer their progress and up to one million in-game credits into the full game when Gran Turismo Sport is released on October 18th.
