A sizeable array of new gameplay additions and content will be introduced to Forza Motorsport 7 over the coming months.

Showcased for the first time on the most recent episode of Inside Xbox, and detailed further on the Forza Motorsport website, Forza Motorsport 7's future developments have all been created in response to "direct feedback" from Forza Motorsport 7's playerbase.

For instance, track boundary limits have been rewritten for all of Forza Motorsport 7's track layouts and variations. To further help players identify where the track boundaries are, a new option that 'illuminates' the track edges will be introduced to Forza Motorsport 7 – though it wasn't stated when this option will be made available.

The redrawn track limits are the first confirmed part of Forza Motorsport 7's new 'race regulations system', which aims to improve the quality of Forza Motorsport 7's multiplayer racing modes. Consisting of multiple elements that will be added to the game in stages, Forza Motorsport 7's race regulations system will eventually incorporate aspects that help curtail player griefing – as well as educating players on what is and isn't acceptable behaviour in a multiplayer race.

Existing modes in Forza Motorsport 7 are also set to be given an overhaul in the coming months. Increased steering angles and a revised score calculation algorithm will be introduced to Forza Motorsport 7's drift mode, and a 'time attack' leaderboards will be set up for every car class and track combination in the game.

An "experimental drag racing" mode will be introduced to Forza Motorsport 7 too, with the new setup providing a more authentic recreation of real life drag racing. For example, players will be able to warm up their tyres before a drag race begins, with the events themselves commencing after a Christmas Tree light countdown.

Initially, this mode will only be available as a singleplayer Free Play quick race. However, it was stated that future plans for developing this mode will be determined by player feedback on the new drag racing setup.

Finally, it was confirmed that more content will be coming to Forza Motorsport 7, with particular emphasis being placed on the new free cars that all Forza Motorsport 7 players will have access to. In addition, two more monthly car packs will be added to Forza Motorsport 7's Car Pass, with the Hoonigan Car Pack pre-order bonus DLC also joining the Car Pass lineup in June 2018.
