In light of the recent news that the GT Sport beta will be closing on July 26, it was only a matter of time before Polyphony Digital would announce a release date.
However I believe it's fair to say that not many people was expecting one this soon: Gran Turismo Sport will be releasing on October 18. Check out the release date trailer below.
The date slots GT Sport's launch just after the likes of Project CARS 2 (September 22) and Forza Motorsport 7 (October 3).
This means that arguably the biggest racing games of the year are all releasing within a month of each other, this will make for some fantastic and fierce competition in the racing genre. With releases so close, customers will need to pick and choose what they will spend their hard-earned cash on.
No doubt we'll get lots of new details on GT Sport in the days and weeks to come.
