iRacing has confirmed two new virtual race series based on the Blancpain Sprint and Endurance championships will be coming to the PC racing sim.

First set in motion by iRacing's sponsorship role at last year's Nurburgring 1000 race, the new partnership with SRO Motorsports Ltd. will allow iRacing to establish two new in-game racing championships, using all the GT3-spec cars featured in the title.

This will eventually include (alongside the BMW Z4, Ford GT and McLaren MP4-12C racing cars) the Aston Martin racing models that are currently in the pipelines, as well as cars from "another major manufacturer" which is yet to be announced for iRacing.

All the tracks used in the Blancpain championships which are currently in iRacing (as well as the in-development Nurburgring Nordschleife) will also be used in the virtual seasons, with races at these tracks lasting from 30 minutes to up to three hours.

The Blancpain-inspired races will also utilise iRacing's driver swap functionality, which will allow co-drivers to race in their team's car from different locations across the world.

More information on these new virtual GT racing championships are expected to be revealed before the second Blancpain GT Series round at Brands Hatch (the first track on the Blancpain calendar that's featured in iRacing) on May 10th 2015.
